Lip Enhancement
A variety of new techniques are now available for lip enhancement. The purpose of lip enhancement is to give the lips a fuller and more youthful look. Injectable replacement therapy can offer excellent immediate results. However, your body ultimately absorbs these materials and ongoing treatments may be necessary. Swelling and some bruising will be present immediately after the procedure and can take up to two weeks to resolve. Another method available is fat grafting using your body's own fat taken from another area, such as your hip or abdomen.

Collagen
Collagen is part of the natural support structure of the skin. With aging, sun exposure and other factors, collagen and hyaluronic acid in your skin diminish, skin loses its elasticity and volume, and unwelcome lines and wrinkles appear. Collagen replacement therapy replenishes the skin's collagen layer, smoothing lines, wrinkles and scars, and adding definition to lip borders. Common collagen products include Cosmoplast® and Cosmoderm®.

BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein. It is a nonsurgical, physician administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between the brows.
BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of these muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows begin to fade.

Restylane® / Hylaform® / Juvederm®
These soft tissue fillers are viscoelastic gels made of hyaluronic acid that allow quick and noticeable corrections without the need of a skin test. They are injected just under the skin's surface at intervals along the wrinkle until the right amount is achieved. Soft tissue fillers can be used to "fill" and smooth out deep facial furrows, acne scars, and smile lines. They can also be used to enhance the border of the lips for those who desire a fuller look. Treatments take less than half an hour, and may require a local anesthetic to numb the area.
