Postop Day 5 ✨ Recovery mode, but make it glowy

Not going to lie — day 5 is humbling. But feeling so grateful for the precision & talent of my surgeon Dr. Sherrell Aston 🙏 The results speak for themselves & I couldn’t be in better hands. Even though I go through my perioperative skincare & makeup in this reel, don’t be fooled! It was my plastic surgeon’s precision with his scalpel and his exact right plane of skin & tissue dissection that enabled success.

My mind compares surgeons & pilots. I want my pilot to have ALOT of hours! Surgeons & pilots are compared to each other because both work in high-stress environments where small errors can have huge consequences. Both must stay calm under pressure, master complex problems & be the team leader!

An analogy here is the luck or fate of having the very experienced pilot on US Airways flight 1549, Captain Sulley Sullenberger who landed on the Hudson River. Sulley successfully executed a tail-first, level-pitch landing, distributing the impact force & preventing the aircraft from breaking apart or cartwheeling. Dr. Aston did the same thing to my beaten up SMAS and thinned out skin four days ago!! 🫣

Had the opportunity to perform Junera, a minimally invasive laser skin tightening procedure on this pretty 61 year old patient of mine who I performed a face and necklift and eyelid lift 11 years ago!! 🥹

She came in with concerns of deep creases by her eyes at her crow’s feet, at the her 11s, and deep horizontal creases of the forehead, as well as mild jowling and laxity of the neck!

She chose to do the minimally invasive procedure Junera from ONYXA Medical, which was all she wanted to do - she did not want to get another facelift at this point in time! And I get that!! ❤️

My patient was a great candidate for this minimally invasive, dual wavelength interstitial laser procedure and did very well! Dr. Jennifer Walden, board-certified female plastic surgeon in Austin, Texas, uses the latest techniques to safely reduce the size of the labia minora as well as perform labia majora reduction, external vaginoplasty, perineoplasty, autologous fat grafting to the labia majora (or outer lips), and PRP (The O-Shot) to the vaginal canal, around the urethra and clitoris for enhanced sensation.

A vertical wedge of labia minora tissue is removed, resulting in a small, nearly invisible scar that doesn’t run the entire length of the labia. The prepuce/clitoral hood is also usually hanging down and needs trimming as well to produce a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing result.

This procedure is also known as the Alter Wedge Labiaplasty. The labia minora are the smaller pieces of tissue situated inside the labia majora. Many of the women we speak with express dissatisfaction due to the labia minora extending lower and larger than the “lips” that are supposed to surround them. Labia minora reduction reduces the length and size of this tissue for a more proportionate appearance. Often, clitoral hood reduction is performed at the same time.

The recovery period involves 6-7 days of low-level activity, followed by two to three weeks off from the gym. We have experienced a very high patient satisfaction rate with this surgery.

This just got added onto my MUST DO list!
