Making it happen! Those three words say it all! These talented and dedicated women are the glue that make up the office and operating room staff in the office of Dr. Jennifer Walden. Each one plays an integral role in the overall flow and functioning of the practice; no job or duty is too small or too large. We are proud to be a fully female-owned and operated business, and take pride in our work. We make it happen! (Don’t worry guys, we love our male patients too!).
Kristin Gunn, CLT, LME
Kristin Gunn is a medical aesthetician, skin care guru, and advanced level cosmetic injector. She specializes in subtle, natural-looking cosmetic filler injections, superior anti-aging tips and tricks, and facial rejuvenation with laser, BBL/IPL, and PiQo4 Tattoo Removal Laser technology. Kristin developed an interest in cosmetic surgery and dermatology when training to be a surgical technologist alongside plastic surgeons in the operating room. Over the years, she has worked in the busiest and most exclusive medspas and medical facilities throughout Central Texas.
Kristin is authentically Austin, and is also the owner of Skin and Tonic Studio and skin care blog. Fascinated by facial contouring, she has completed advanced training in Neurotoxins and Cosmetic Fillers, and has perfected her own technique over the years. Kristin is a top-level provider of non-surgical aesthetic facial rejuvenation including the use of neurotoxins (Botox and Dysport) as well as Juvederm, Radiesse, Voluma, Restylane and Restylane Lyft. She has also been trained in Restylane Silk, and Belotero for fine lines. Experience counts! Kristin has accumulated many happy clients over the years. The goal for all is beautiful, healthy and positively glowing skin.
Kristin also has years of experience coordinating services and scheduling surgical and nonsurgical patients within large aesthetic practices. Given her diverse yet relevant background, she serves as Dr. Walden’s medspa practice coordinator and helps direct the operations on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience at reputable Austin-based and operated facilities like Seton Healthcare as a surgery scheduler and a large skin care center have served her well on her professional journey that has led her to this position with our dynamic and talented staff! Shari Wilkins, RN
Originally from Nebraska, Shari is a seasoned professional in the field of plastic surgery office and operating room nursing. She attended Hastings College and graduated from Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1981. Her career began in the ICU/CCU. After moving to Frisco, Texas in 1984, she worked in OR and recovery room for many years. Moving to California in 1998 presented her with the opportunity to work in both the aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgical specialties. She returned to Texas in 2004 and has continued her career in that specialty.
Shari has joined Dr. Walden’s practice as her lead clinical nurse, overseeing continuity of patient care on both the office and operating room sides. Free time is enjoyed outdoors, doing landscape and gardening projects with her husband Steve, cooking, exploring the Texas Hill Country, and of course spending time with family and friends.
Frankie Young, RN
Frankie is a Registered Nurse who began her nursing career 11 years ago in a burn intensive care unit in San Francisco. During this time she also worked in the private practice of a plastic surgeon, gaining experience in aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries. Frankie grew up in Alabama, then moved to California to attended the University of California at Davis, where she received a BA in International Relations. She worked in high tech PR for a few years before deciding to attend Columbia University School of Nursing in New York where she received her BS in Nursing in 2004.
Frankie is a “most loved” part of Dr Walden’s team by many of our patients due to the compassionate and competent care that she routinely provides, and is most often the operating room circulator and recovery room nurse. Frankie spends her spare time chasing her two young children, traveling, and serving on the board of directors for a local autism charity.
Beccah Maud, CST, CSFA
Beccah is a certified surgical first assistant with 16 years of operating room experience. She has scrubbed and assisted in nearly every surgical specialty with emphasis in recent years in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. Beccah is the Perioperative Manager at Walden Cosmetic Surgery Center; she helps to run the operating room and perioperative areas and works with Dr. Walden to ensure quality care through maintenance of accreditation of the facility. You also may see her on the office side during minor procedures and office hours with medical clearance and preoperative testing coordination.
Beccah is a native of Pennsylvania, but has called Texas home for over 20 years. She has traveled to Guatemala on medical mission trips and enjoys helping people whom otherwise may not receive quality care. Volunteering for Austin Pets Alive is also something Beccah is passionate about.
Michelle Knesek rn, bsn
Michelle is a registered nurse who began her nursing career 7 years ago after graduating from Texas A&M University (Gig Em Ags!). She was offered an exclusive opportunity to join the OR team at Memorial Hermann Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Houston, TX. Here she was able to learn all specialties of the operating room (neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, etc). After completion of the internship, Michelle moved to Vail, Colorado and worked with surgeons in orthopedics and other specialties in the operating room. The cold proved to be too much for this Texas girl and Michelle moved back home to Austin. Austin has provided Michelle with the good fortune to work in plastic and reconstructive surgery- which she has specialized in for the past 4 years.
Michelle is very happy to have joined the team of Dr. Jennifer Walden. She prides herself in helping patients and providing them with the best care that they deserve. You can find her working in the clinical and OR setting with Dr. Walden.
In her personal life, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband JR, their two pups Bovie and Jackson, reading, jogging and doing pilates.
Leah andrews, rn, fnp
Leah is a nurse practitioner who began her nursing career seven years ago. She attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies, and as a registered nurse she has worked in both surgical and pediatric units. After deciding she wanted to further her education with a graduate degree, she enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in hand surgery and orthopedics for several years before pursuing plastic surgery. Leah has a passion for patient education and making every patient encounter a positive one. In her free time, Leah enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her husband and son.
Tracey Grant, CLT
Tracey is a licensed Medical Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician & Cosmetic Injection Specialist. Tracey’s training includes a broad based background in skin care with advanced experience in skin rejuvenation and enhancement with chemical peels, microneedle Collagen Induction Therapy, PRP / platelet rich plasma therapy, and an array of injectables and dermal fillers utilizing a natural looking approach. Tracey’s drive for innovative techniques & preventative skin care keeps her in the forefront of the industry. Using an Artistic eye and natural looking style, Tracey brings aesthetic value to her services in an environment to stimulate mental & physical well being.
Courtney Grant, CLT
Born and raised in Austin, Courtney attended one of the city’s first medical aesthetics programs and joins our team with 15 years experience. Her passion for growth and knowledge led her to continue her education and become a licensed medical aesthetician, as well as the 6th senior laser technician certified by the state of Texas. Through advanced training and working for some of Austin’s premiere medical facilities, Courtney has gained expert knowledge in Fractional Laser Resurfacing, Intense Pulse Light based therapies, Micro Laser Peels, and Radiofrequency treatments. She loves educating her patients and making them look and feel their absolute best. Her passions outside the office include watching soccer, playing volleyball and spending time with her two beloved French Bulldogs at Zilker Park.
Coco Cave, LME
Coco is one of our front office administrators and is an experienced medical aesthetician whom you may see on both office and medspa sides; she also performs many aesthetic procedures. Coco is in charge of medical photography and also assists in maintenance of medical records within the office. As an aesthetician, Coco possesses knowledge and training in radiofrequency including ThermiVa vaginal rejuvenation and Venus Legacy, as well as microneedling, dermaplaning, laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, facials, and more. Coco’s goal is not only to treat, but also educate our medspa patients before, during and after treatments so that all experiences are both enjoyable and positive. Coco is always learning about new products and services to better serve our patients with a smile on her face. In her free time, Coco enjoys spending time with her daughter and fiance at the park and working out.
Jessie is our surgical coordinator. Jessie was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. After graduating high school, she attended Baldwin Beauty School to obtain her aesthetician license and National Laser Institute for her laser license. Upon graduation, Jessie started working in the field of plastic surgery. She has been specialized in this field for 4 years. She joined Dr. Walden’s team in March 2016. Jessie is an integral part of our staff who amplifies a positive experience for the team and for our patients. Jessie handles online patient communications, scheduling, and educating patients on various procedures. She also assists Dr. Walden in various projects. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Brooke is one of our front office administrators committed to ensuring that our patients receive the best service from the moment they check in to the time they check out. She is in charge of maintaining medical records within the office, scheduling appointments and checking patients in and out.
On top of being a staple member of the front office staff Brooke is also an experienced Medical Aesthetician whom you may see on both office and medspa sides. She obtained her Esthetician license from Aveda beauty school and her laser license from Texas Laser and Aesthetics training academy right here in Austin.
As a member of Dr.Walden’s staff, Brooke strives not only to treat but also educate our medspa patients before, during and after treatments so that the patient is well informed and results are maximized. Dedicated to her craft, Brooke is always learning about new products and services to better serve and educate our patients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time quality time with her daughter and husband.
Heather is the newest member of the Med Spa Team and serves as Patient Coordinator. With a warm and welcoming personality, she makes it her goal to ensure that each client has a wonderful experience from the moment they walk in, to the moment they leave. Heather’s structure and organizational skills ensure that the front desk runs smoothly.
As a hair stylist since 2003, Heather has been a vital part of the beauty industry in the Austin area. Her strong desire to become an expert in skincare led her to continue her education in this field. She is a certified laser hair removal technician, certified in IPL and advanced chemical peels, as well as microneedling.
Heather and her husband have an 11-year old son. They spend time together camping, bicycling, and spending time with friends. Her volunteer efforts include the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation of Austin.
Terra Yeske, LME
Terra Yeske of 512 Skincare is a fabulous aesthetician who brings a unique approach to skin health to Dr. Walden’s cosmetic surgery center including research, client education, and results. Terra states, “Skin care is only as good as the education behind it. I strive to provide a realistic approach to skin health and wellness. The power of professional treatments and products should not be overlooked. Treating yourself to regular facial treatments is essential to maintaining a regular pattern of exfoliation and healthy skin.” Terra has been involved in the health, wellness and beauty industry for 13 years. As the founder of 512Skincare, she specializes in corrective skin rejuvenation with a strong focus on internal and external factors that affect skin health. Each treatment is meticulously tailored to each client based on their goals, lifestyle and the results they wish to attain. You can now combine services that include in-office facial treatments, injectables, laser and cosmetic surgery; Terra and the team at Dr. Walden’s office will guide you on the path to your most beautiful self and transform your skin into a more vibrant, youthful state.
Amber is Dr. Walden’s social media and blogging assistant. She writes weekly about Dr. Walden’s news, events, and plastic surgery topics. A California native, Amber moved to Austin when she was 10 years old. At 16 she tested out of Austin area Lake Travis High School to attend college early at Lamar University. In the summer of 2013, she interned with Dr. Walden at her Austin-based office. Amber was a key member in Dr. Walden’s #LiveOR team during that Summer, which succeeded in maintaining a live Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Vine feed of a six-hour procedure. The multi-platform coverage of the surgery online was a groundbreaking moment in the plastic surgery industry and was featured on Fox 7 News. As a National Merit and National Achievement Scholar, Amber looks forward to graduating two years early from college. She plans to continue her education by going to medical school and have Dr. Walden continue on as her mentor. For fun, Amber enjoys going to the lake with her family and listening to Austin’s live music.
