The Vectra XT is Canfield’s 3D imaging system, the tool is designed to give a three dimensional image of the face or body. The imaging can be used to view results of both surgical and non surgical procedures.
The Vectra XT has been used by Dr. Walden for over a year now. While Dr. Walden previously used a Mirror imaging, patients wanted a more clear view of what the results would be after their procedure. Dr. Walden sees the new imaging tool as a great way to give patients the best way to visualize their possible results.
Dr. Walden use for the Vectra XT has mainly been for breast augmentation and rhinoplasty consultations. Dr. Walden has also started using the imaging to consult patients requesting breast lift procedures. Dr. Walden’s use of the Vectra XT has expanded to showing patients skin quality, facelifts, neck lifts, and chin augmentation. Dr. Walden’s practice is entirely cosmetic surgery, the Vectra XT is in use everyday at her office.
While there could be questions on patients who have unrealistic ideas on results of plastic surgery, Dr. Walden says the image results from the Vectra XT are an estimate of the results. “I think in this day and age most patients are very savvy and educated and they know they won’t look exactly like an image generated on a computer screen. I find that the imaging is a helpful adjunct”. Patients have already commented on the use of the cutting edge technology is a great addition to Dr. Walden’s practice.
Dr. Walden was recently interviewed in the journal Modern Aesthetics on 3D imaging in plastic surgery. Click here for the complete article.
