Botox and Lasers, and Facelifts, oh my! So many procedures are available to refresh your look that it can be intimidating to navigate all of your options. Thankfully, Studio512 featured Dr. Jennifer Walden to talk about some of the most popular procedures used to rejuvenate the facial features and bring life back to the skin. From noninvasive fillers and laser procedures to surgical procedures, patients have a variety of potential avenues to explore.
Injectable fillers
One of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world is the injectable Botox. Botox works by reducing muscle activity to eliminate wrinkles and facial lines. Once injected, Botox can prevent the formation of wrinkles for up to 6 months. The in-office procedure requires no downtime and can even be done in a lunch break. Most patients experience little-to-no discomfort during the injection.
Laser Resurfacing
There are many different types of laser resurfacing options, but some of the most popular are broadband light and pro fractional lasers. Broadband light utilizes an intense pulse light to help fade brown spots, hyperpigmentation, light wrinkles, and skin texture. A Broadband light session is a quick procedure that allows you to be in and out of the office quickly. Pro-fractional lasers resurface the skin quickly with no anesthesia.
Facelift
A facelift is an extremely effective surgical procedure that can eliminate deep-set wrinkles. Common facelift patients are in the age range of 60-70 years. Recovery depends on the patient, but generally, Dr. Walden recommends 2 weeks off to allow yourself to heal.
