Dr. Walden was recently featured on KVUE for her recurring segment: Looking Good and Living Well with Dr. Jennifer Walden. On Looking Good and Living Well, Dr. Walden will cover specific beauty and wellness topics from a plastic surgery perspective. It’s almost like having a consultation from the comfort of your own home!
This week, Dr. Walden and her patient Alissa Allen answer questions about undergoing a breast augmentation. Alissa got breast implants after having children to bring her body back to the way it was pre-pregnancy. This Q&A covers the basics about breast augmentation, surgery and recovery time, and possible motivation factors.
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. According to WebMD breast augmentation is performed often along with lipoplasty (liposuction), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and rhinoplasty (nose surgery). Breast augmentation is a day surgery procedure that allows you to go home the same day. Recovery is about 2 to 4 weeks with many patients going back to work after a week.
A breast augmentation is popular amongst mom’s who experience sagging and shrinking in the breast area after pregnancy. Alissa was motivated to have this procedure for the effects it can have to remedy the post-pregnancy body. Alissa had been a little afraid to undergo the procedure. She sites Dr. Walden’s all female staff and welcoming atmosphere as a key reason for finally going through with a breast augmentation.
